Insane Chainless Bicycle Prototype

A Craftsman Built a Chainless Bicycle. But Does It Work as Well as the Real Thing?

As all those who’ve ridden a bicycle knows, a chain transmits the driving power from the bike’s pedals to its rear wheel, thus propelling it. The majority of bicycle chains are constructed of ordinary carbon or alloy steel, however, some are nickel-plated to prevent rust or just for appearance. For bikers, they can be inconvenient from time to time since most shops charge $15 to $20 to install a chain. But what if there was a bicycle without a chain that worked just as well as the usual one?

In this video by the ingenious YouTube channel called The Q, you can see one in action. The YouTuber, who is known for his many many interesting projects ranging from removing the entire hub from his bicycle to building airless tires, shows you how he managed the tackle this project with expertise. Keep in mind that this is not the first time that someone has decided to remove the chains from the bikes entirely; in fact, there are shaft-driven bicycles available that use a drive shaft rather than a chain to carry power from the pedals to the wheel. However, this video will provide you with a good look into what the DIY process may entail, so gear up, and as usual, enjoy! And as always, enjoy!
